Walking tour – Imperial Fora

Tuesday 23rd September h. 18:15 (CET)
Sponsored by

Step back in time with our expertly guided walking tour through the awe-inspiring Imperial Fora—the monumental heart of ancient Roman power and architecture.

We will begin at the Colosseum, the world-renowned symbol of the Eternal City, reached via a comfortable bus from our meeting point. From there, we will explore a sequence of grand public squares built by the emperors, each filled with fascinating ruins and history.

As we stroll along the pedestrian path flanked by ancient remnants, you will experience a breathtaking open-air museum that tells the story of Rome’s imperial past. The tour culminates with Trajan’s Forum, the most remarkable of them all, showcasing Trajan’s Column and the extraordinary Markets of Trajan.

We will end our journey at the medieval Grillo Hill, overlooking the impressive Wall of the Suburra—a perfect blend of Rome’s ancient and medieval heritage.

Highlights: Colosseum, temple of Venus and Rome, Basilica of Maxentius, temple of Peace, Forum of Nerva, Forum of Augustus, Forum of Caesar, Forum of Trajan, House of the Knight of Rhodes.

Meeting point: 18:15 (CET) – Wegil – Largo Ascianghi, 5

Tour end: 20:00 (CET) – House of the Knight of Rhodes – Piazza del Grillo, 1
