The Aperitif, sponsored by our Platinum Partner “ACTECON”, will take place at the Chiostro del Bramante in Via Arco della Pace, 5.
The Chiostro del Bramante, a highlight of Renaissance architecture in Rome, was designed by Donato Bramante (1444-1515) after he moved from Milan following the fall of Duke Ludovico Sforza. In Rome, Bramante became Pope Julius II’s chief architect and a rival of Michelangelo.
The Chiostro, part of a monastic complex that includes the church of Santa Maria della Pace with Raphael’s Sibyls fresco, was commissioned around 1500 by Cardinal Oliviero Carafa. The Cardinal’s patronage is evident from the dedicatory inscription and his coat of arms on the columns and doors.
Bramante’s design emphasizes Renaissance ideals of harmony and balance with geometric lines and classical proportions, contrasting with his Gothic-influenced Milanese work.
Before the Aperitif, participants will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Chiostro del Bramante and the Church of Santa Maria della Pace.
Registration for the guided tour and the aperitif is compulsory and can be made through the LCFApp or by sending an e-mail to info@learcompetitionfestival.com, specifying “Aperitif” and/or “Guided tour” as the subject.
