Competition authorities attracted significant attention for their intervention in M&A-deals. The merger control environment is becoming ever more complex with lengthier reviews, novel theories of harm, increased intervention and the need to navigate multiple competition authorities around the world. This session will focus on recent trends in light of recent cases resulting in Phase 2 reviews and remedies (including a discussion on mechanisms to avoid in-depth investigation and commercial negotiations to allocate risks).
