Our session will aim at providing some critical reflections on some of the multiple issues and challenges arising in the context of digital antitrust enforcement, with an overview on how different jurisdictions have come to deal with some of the issues in the digital sector, and then focusing on how this play out in Italy, with the introduction of a presumption of economic dependency for digital platforms, the new merger control call-in powers to deal also with “killer acquisitions” and the potential impact that the new market investigation tool that the Italian Antitrust Authority has been entrusted may have on the digital sector.
