Latest Competition law and policy developments regarding digital markets: the views from key developing countries

Consumers and users, including micro and SMEs across the globe should be treated by digital platforms in an equal and equitable manner regardless of where they reside or where they are based. However, in reality, developing countries with low regulatory capacity are likely to have sub-optimal domestic regulations, prejudicing the interests of their domestic consumers. This session will address the latest developments, including competition law enforcement and policy initiatives, challenges and future policy directions in the digital markets of the three key developing countries of Brazil, India and South Africa.
